Okanagan K9 has been working vigorously with the hope of becoming Penticton’s first multi-service canine centre. At Okanagan K9 their focus is about strengthening the bond between humans and canines, through excellent customer service. That’s why no matter what activity you have planned with your canine, Okanagan K9 offers quality products to ensure quality companionship.

Owner, Zeina Elgazzar says, “More people in today’s society treat their pets as an extension of their family and amongst them are those who not only want to pamper their pooches, but who also want to include them in their everyday lives.” As there are over 3,000 dog tags issued throughout Penticton, Elgazzar recognized an opportunity as she felt that there was a niche market gap within the community.

Okanagan K9 is looking to become a two fold organization. Firstly, is the boutique aspect of Okanagan K9, which opened their doors in March of this year. The boutique has a strong focus in carrying products that are unique, as she aims to capture that niche market. Some examples of these products include, specialty collars and leashes, luxury bedding, an elite clothing line, Eco-friendly and interactive toys, as well as healthy and gourmet treats and cookies.

Okanagan K9 hopes to move forward with the other side of their business concept soon; canine services. Okanagan K9 anticipates having certified alternative therapists, groomers for their ‘spaw’, as well as designated play staff and a dog walking team for their cage free daycare operations. If the opportunity arises, they may even have training sessions available for when the daycare is unoccupied.

Elgazzar is excited and optimistic about the future plans for the company. Elgazzar’s passion for dogs and people gives her a strong foundation in this industry, in order to take her company to the next level. She encourages all fellow dog owners to bring their beloved pets in for a visit and a treat and see what all the hype is about!
