Income

Income Characteristics

The South Okanagan has one of the highest percentage of persons on pensions and relying on investment income found anywhere in BC. This is due to the relatively high number of retirees as well as the nominal number of large-scale employers. There is a growing proportion of income from self-employment resulting from the growing demand to live in the Okanagan Valley and to bring or create a job based on acquired skills. These opportunities have been enhanced by advances in communications technology.
