Lumber and value-added wood product manufacturing comprise the single largest sector of the growing manufacturing industry in the Okanagan region. This is followed by metal and steel product manufacturing, and the manufacture of food and beverage products.

In Penticton, natural resources are readily available for local manufacturers to produce goods. Fruit/Orchard/Vineyard resources contribute to the large concentration of successful food processing facilities.
